Biography

Michal Lemberger is a writer, editor, and teacher. Long interested in the stories and experiences of women and the landscape of the ancient world, she channeled her experience as a poet and scholar of the Hebrew Bible to write the short stories in her debut collection, After Abel and Other Stories, which was published in April, 2015 by Prospect Park Books. She has published short fiction, poetry, academic and popular essays, and reported journalism in many online and print journals. She holds a BA from Barnard College and a PhD from UCLA. Her fields of expertise are Bible as Literature, Jewish and American-Jewish Literature, and Poetry.
